Nobody should have to live with the fear and anxiety that hate crime can cause.

A hate crime is any criminal offence which is perceived by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by hostility or prejudice based on a person’s protected characteristic.

Hate crime generally falls into three categories: physical assault, verbal abuse or incitement of hatred (Met Police, 2019).  Some examples of hate crime include:
  • assaults
  • criminal damage
  • harassment
  • murder
  • sexual assault

  • fraud
  • burglary
