Report + Support
At Teach First, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment for our trainees and employees both directly with Teach First, but also within the schools and Delivery Partners we work with. In the event of an incident or experience that occurs that you would like to make us aware of, you can utilise Report and Support to share what has happened, how this has affected you and what action you would like us to take. It may be that you just want us to be aware of something that has happened and do not require any follow up action, or it may be something that requires investigation and/or escalation through our internal processes. Whatever it is, it is a chance for us to address any issues or incidents that arise, deal with any safeguarding concerns, prevent reoccurrence, identify any risks, provide any necessary support, take forward any learning or improvement and ensure that we uphold our values and mission in all areas of our work.
To report anything to us, you can choose to either make an anonymous or a named report. If you choose to report anonymously, we are not provided with your name or contact details, however we cannot guarantee that there would not be identifiable information in what you disclose. By reporting anonymously, we may be limited in the scope of what we can do or investigate if the information we receive is for example too broad or limited, however we do endeavour in all cases to take what action we can with the information we have. When you report anonymously, you will be asked if you would be open to communicating with us via an anonymous messaging function. This would allow us to clarify key details with you if necessary to enable us to investigate and take appropriate action in accordance with our internal processes whilst protecting your anonymity.
If you choose to make a named report, we receive your name and contact details which allows us to clarify key details with you and pinpoint exactly where the incident or experience may have occurred. This then provides us with more scope to investigate and take appropriate action in accordance with our internal processes.
If you provide a named report or agree to the terms of the messaging function in an anonymous report, this also allows us to check you have any required support in place and if there is anything you would like to see as an outcome.
Whichever option you decide, we want you to feel safe reporting to us. Please be assured your report will be handled sensitively, confidentially and supportively and you should feel no repercussions for having raised a concern. Your report comes through to the Governance team in the first instance who will review the content of your report and take any appropriate action in line with internal processes, our privacy policy and where applicable our Complaints Policy.
If you have any questions, you can reach out to us directly via email to governance@teachfirst.org.
